We got a carseat that includes a base, but, in the reviews, someone mentioned that it's nice because it's also one that doesn't NEED a base to function/be safe, so it was nice to use in multiple vehicles.
I'm not sure if I really feel that safe with it, but I know so many people who have infant seats that don't have a base and they're all fine. So, what does everyone else think?
Re: WDYT? Baseless Infant Car Seat?
The base is so so so much safer.
We used our infant car seat a few times while traveling and had to install it without a base in cabs/rental cars and it was really hard to get it secure and tight.
The reviewer pointed out that it was nice to not have to move a base from car to car, like, if she was riding with a friend or something and didn't want to move the base out of her car for one afternoon.
My friend uses hers to run to the store if her husband has the base. She said it's great to have if there's an emergency...but they use the base on a daily basis.
I think it's a good idea that someone came out with...but i feel safer with the base!
