It wont hurt to take a tour to familiarize yourselves with the layout. W/ a C, you will be in the hospital for 4-5 days so it will benefit your DH more than anything.
Yes, it sure will. You need to know where to park, check -in, surgery area, where your LO will be, if any problems the NICU, where your family goes to wait, then where the rooms are and cafeteria for your husband.
Yes, I second the comment about the NICU. I literally "ignored" that part of the tour..and that was a huge mistake. Our baby was in the NICU for a month. I'm not saying your baby will be, but the stress and having it be that much more scary was worse because we didn't know anything.
Re: Is a hospital tour necessary with a c-section?
I'm not doing it. It's one floor of our hospital, with rooms in it. They're all pretty much the same, and I think I can figure it out.
I had one important question, and my friend answered it for me - yes, they have wireless, so I can get online...
I looked at the website and saw some pics and also saw where my hospital has wireless too. Yay!
We've been there a couple of times (not in L&D) for some testing that I had so there are some things we already know.
