Tonight we went to Target and got two more storage solutions for our area. We got rid of the plastic bin we were using to store DS toys and it just frustrated him anyway when he was emptying it to crawl in it. We got a wire rack cube storage thing. He can now see all of his toys and books and take what he wants off the shelves instead of digging to get to something. And when we went to pick up DH's old computer we got the chance to visit a little bit with our friends. DH's friend did some data transfer for us. Well, I wasn't sure how they felt about hand me downs and they are having a boy. We offered them everything we have for the most part minus a few special favorite items and they accepted. The mom has the same problem I do. We both like the clothing for the gender child we have but not the opposite gender. So, the bin we were using for DS toys is now filled to the brim with clothing to hand down to her little boy. And the bin is probably a 45 gallon one, so lots of clothes. :-)
MIL asked why weren't keeping it because she's saved so much of the stuff from when her kids were babies. I just rolled my eyes at overhearing the conversation. Since this will be c/s #2 for me we're not planning anymore kids. And if we do decide on taking one more chance in the future we'll deal with what we might need then. I'm just happy to pass on all this clothing and not have to store it or ship it with us when we hopefully move out in the next few months.
Re: AW!
Ooo.. Thanks for reminding me about wire shelves. I have to search through the basement and see if I still have mine from my college days! That's a perfect solution for the mess around here!
And yea for decluttering of clothes and giving them to someone who appreciates them!

we are so lucky with thomas the majority of his wardrobe is hand me downs from my cousins and nephews. i can't wait to pass some of this stuff on to someone else who can use it!
