PP body

Hi girls - I'm sure some of you can relate...  the PP body is making me feel miserable.  Anyone else?  I know I'm only 2wks PP so I'm trying not to get too worked up but I feel like I'll be living in maternity jeans til Summer.  My normal bras don't even 'fit' right ha!  I'm living in sports bras - which is helping w/ BFing.  I don't remember when I was able to 'squeeze'  back into real clothes when I had DS but I'm hoping it's soon.  I feel so icky.  Anyone else w/ me??  Kel

Re: PP body

  • The extra weight doesn't bother me, but my squishy, flabby lower stomach grosses me out. I had a lot of stretch marks during my pregnancy and now that my bump is gone, the skin is so loose and just gross feeling. I'm worried that no amount of weight loss will even help.

  • I'm 2 weeks PP too and I feel your pain. I just have to remember it's *only* been two weeks and I need to have a little patience. I'm also still living in sports bras. I was so tired of maternity jeans I had to go out and buy bigger size regular jeans. I'm just ready to start working out, which will help  me lose the weight quicker. I still have 25 pounds to go.
  • Yeah, it's my flabby, lower belly that's bothering me.  I feel disgusting.  I'm starting pilates this week (5 weeks PP) and will slowly start running/jogging next week, so we'll see.  DH and I plan to have more kids and I've read that if you don't lose your baby weight from the prior pregnancy before you get pregnant again, it's yours to keep.  SCARY!
  • My body has a whole new shape, my c-section flab is unforgiving and I can only fit in my "fat" clothes.
  • I agree. Its not so much the clothes as it is the squishy belly. My belly actually went down a lot, and I lost all the bloat out of my face, so I'm pretty happy with how things have been going. Since I had a c/s I have been hesitant about wearing regular pants anyway.... in another week I may give some higher rise jeans a shot!?

I tried on a stretchy pencil skirt on saturday and it fit! so maybe baby steps??

  • I feel the same way... I hate the flab from my C-section my squishy belly is so gross. I only gained 12lbs to begin with and lost it all and some but I just feel like I still have the weight on.

I was heavier to begin with so I  really want to lose weight in general so I can't wait to start working out.

  • yeah its not pretty... I do not dig te raisin gut!! and just wait... its super fun when people post on here one week after having their LO's I'm back to my PP weight and I lost 5 more lbs.

Yeah Yeah we are sooooo happy for you! <----- Okay that was snarky. I'm a little bitter.  Embarrassed

  • I'm 4 weeks PP and wearing some "early" maternity clothes.  I have lost 30 lbs of my 44 gained, so I'm OK with that.  But yes, my body is a different shape and I don't even want to try squeezing into my normal clothes.

I have been wearing a PP belt from BRU and love it!  It is comfy and helps keep the jiggle in :)

  • I still have 50 pounds to go (I gained 70).My belly doesnt bother me as much but the weight gain has. During my c-section my OB was surprised and told me that I was all belly because of baby. No fat at all! (yay!) lol. But i'm dyyyyyyying to get back to my workout routine because I have NO clothes. No fat clothes, just maternity. SUCKS. :)
  • I am just now starting to feel not so FAT and jiggly. I still have 20 lbs. to go so I'm definitely still thicker than I usually am, but at least it's a shapely thicker. But I feel you! When I started actively trying to lose the weight I told my DH that I was going to buy myself something from Victoria Secret for every 10 lbs. I lost. That seems to be helping motivate me to want to be sexy again! I've only had one trip so far but I'm hoping to make another one before Valentines Day Wink
  • ROFL.

I have lost all the weight and still none of my clothes fit.  My hips got about 4 inches wider.

This is exactly how I feel.  I lost a lot of the weight really quickly (28 of 43 lbs at 10 days pp) so I'm pretty ok with the rest of my body, but now I feel like I look like I had a gastric bypass or other insane weight loss and the extra pooch is just nasty. I won't let DH see it or touch it.

  • For those of you who are around 2 weeks and BFing, mine went down a LOT from BFing so at least some will still go down on it's own!

I hate that I still have a little pouch and I think some of it is just skin which I think is even grosser that the fat!!  And my stomach looks like a cat used it as a scratching post and to top it off in college I thought it would be cute to have a naval piercing...not so cute after having a baby!  it stretched out halfway up my belly and looks like deformed rabbit ears now!  I don't think I can ever wear a bikini again!!  :-(

  • Yeah, it sucks!  Nothing besides pajamas fit comfortably yet!  I am using Palmer's oil for the stretch marks, wearing a Medela postpartum belt to help with the belly, and just trying to get a little bit of exercise and hoping things will return to normal in the not too distant future!
