3rd Trimester

i think the itching is litterally going to drive me crazy!

ive had an itchy belly before but usually some palmers lotion makes it stop pretty quickly. since ive been out of it ive been using whatever types of lotion i have around the house and it seems to work sometimes, other times i just have to wait for the itiching to stop on its own. (maybe some lotion i used it irritating my skin, or using my boyfriends body wash?) so i decided to pay dr google a visit and he diagnosed it as PUPPP..i guess its just a common skin rash that occurs in the last trimester? if its not gone by tomorrow im going to try and move up my appointment bc this is KILLLLLLING me! anyone else having this problem? what makes it easier to deal with?

  • I'm totally with you!  it just started in the past few days for me.  I don't have any rash or anything, but my stomach itches like crazy!!  I haven't found anything that helps, so I'm looking forward to responses!

  • ive got some little red bumps but idk if theyre rash bumps or from itiching too much. but its getting really, reallly frusterating!!
  • Scratching can cause a rash (hives).  I get this if I scratch my skin even when not pregnant because I have eczema.

Ice packs work if the lotion isn't cutting it.  Avoid heat.  Shea butter is great.  Go to the drug store and get some pure vitamin E oil, that should also help.

  • You can use cortizone cream 1%.  Also, Sarna lotion (found at Target) is also supposed to help.  I've been using Peppermint Essential Oil on the smaller patches with more success than anything else.  If none of those work for you your doc can prescribe a steroidal cream to help with itching.
