First day at daycare :(

I went back to work today and DD went to daycare. She refused to eat more than 4 ounces for them all day. That is I gave her a 6 ounce bottle at 6:00 in the morning and they gave her 4 ounces from 7 till 3:30 when I got her. She refused to eat anything for them except a 1/2 jar of pears. I fed her there before I left and she ate 5 ounces. She also just fell asleep and has only had 20 ounces total for the day. I know she is supposed to get at least 24 ounces in a day and I am worried she will be up all night eating as she did not get enough during the day. I know she is chunky enough to be ok fat wise, but I am worried that she did not get enough liquid for the day. Did anyone else's LO do this? Will it get better?

    She's adorable!  Sorry about daycare and her not eating.  I hope my LO does alright, I'll probably be crying when I leave her.

    Thanks. I cried the whole way to work and then the whole way home after they said she did not eat. I know it will get better.

    my daughter did this for the first two weeks. It is just until they start to know her and get used to each other. It will get better though. At first she would only take 3 oz and 4 oz in 8 hours. she normally eats 6 oz every three hours. now she is eating 6 oz every 4-5 hours and eating rice cereal twice a day and seems to really like it there. I just went back to work 2 weeks ago, so I understand where you are coming from! hang in there it will get better!!!

    It will get better really!! I acutally work in a daycare center, and it usually takes children about 2 weeks to adjust to all the changes, once your  LO get comfortable she will eat more!
