I have it, love it and definitely recommend it. I have had several false alarms though but it could have been for a couple of different reasons. My cousin's baby would sleep so deeply that even on its most sensitive setting, the monitor couldn't detect his movement. I think thats what happened. Another reason could have been the way she was lying or something. Either way she was absolutely fine and I still use it nightly, false alarms aside.
I have it and, honestly, don't know how I would sleep without it! I've only had one false alarm (last night, actually). I don't know if it was because DS was in a really deep sleep (I ran in there and picked him up and it still took him a second to wake up...gave me a heart attack!), or if it was just because he was all the way in the corner of his crib and the monitor couldn't detect his breathing.
Either way, I would definitely recommend it. It's expensive, but worth it! Both DH & I agree that it is the best baby purchase we made.
ETA: I'm not sure of the name of the model we have, but it's the one with 2 sensor pads and one parent unit (although I live in Europe and perhaps the models are different than the U.S.).
We have the deluxe monitor and love it. I am able to sleep at night knowing that it will wake us up if little one stops breathing. We have not had any false alarms and have been using it for 4 weeks. When we brought little one home she had to use a bili blanket for her jaundice so we had to strip her down to her diaper and cover her with a blanket so she wouldn't freeze. I would never have been able to sleep if we would not have had this monitor especially since she was using a loose blanket in her crib and could have easily pulled it over her head. It was such a relief to get rid of the bili blanket and be able to swadle her nice and tight at night. I would recommend this monitor!
Re: Angelcare monitor?
We LOVE it! No false alarms yet. I literally would not be able to sleep a wink without it.
This is an absolute must-have!
