Re: XP: 2 vessel cord

  • Our boy has a 2 vessel cord and he's completely fine.  He's actually the bigger of the two, always weighing more than his sister.  Several doctors said that it's fairly common and that there's usually no problems with it.  They just do growth ultrasounds every 3 weeks on me to make sure they're maintaining their growth and he doesn't start falling off in his growth percentile.

  • My daughter did. They just watched her growth which they were doing anyways since I was having twins. In the end she was the smaller of the two but we have no way of knowing if that was related to the cord. For us it ended up being a non-issue. Good luck.

  • My son had this.  He is 100% healthy.  The peri said that it is very common and as long as there is no other markers that they see on the ultrasounds, that it is nothing to worry about 90% of the time.  He told me not to google it.
  • My baby A has this.  We found out at our 20wk ultrasound and I'm going to the MFM every 4 weeks for ultrasounds.  They want to monitor growth, but they see no other problems.  All the stories I've heard from other people the baby ended up being fine, so don't stress.

  • One of my girls had this. She did end up being the smaller of the two by about half a pound and she continues to be the smaller one. She is 100% healthy! They monitored both the girls growth and it really wasn't much of an issue.

She also had an echogenic focus in her heart and that ended up being nothing either!

    Good luck and don't stress!
