Another airplane question

Since travel seems to be a theme today...

I'm guessing that we may be flying cross county (5+hours, thankfully non-stop) in the next few months to visit family.  Up until now, all the traveling we've done is by car, which thankfully our DDs have done well with.  For this length of flight, how would you do seating?  Buy one seat and keep one on lap (book a full row)?  Buy two seats?  Something else?  Thanks!

Re: Another airplane question

  • If you can afford it, book 2 seats for your girls.  I've flown cross country and internationally with my son and I always get him his own seat.  Once he could walk, it would be a nightmare to try to get him to sit on my lap for 5 hours.  It also helps to have all hands to manage everything.

  • I agree with PP - for a flight that long, I'd get them each a seat if you can afford it.

  • DH is going with you so if you get them their own seat You can DH will not get to sit together.  Carseats have to be next to the window.  We flew at 5 months and lapped one and seated the other I wish I had gotten them there own seats.  The one in the seat slept.  So my vote now would be they get their own seats, you pack 2 smaller diaper bags and sit next to a stranger.
