2nd Trimester

cramping at the top of my stomach

It has been there all night...I don't know what it is. It isn't extremely painful but constant....I am getting scared.

Any ideas?

  • I am not sure but maybe it's heartburn?

  • My guess is heartburn or gas.  Feel better.
  • When I have heartburn it never feels like cramping.  But I have noticed lately that if I have drank a lot sometime my stomach feels that way.

  • I've been reading about something called 'round ligament pain'. Typical in the second trimester what I've read says it's related to the stretching of the uterus and the ligaments connected to it. Typically hurts more on the right side of the abdomen, can cause sharp pains when you move suddenly. I've had some pain like this lately too. I'd check w/your doctor if you get no relief, I'm sure they can tell you much more than I can :)
  • I have cramped really bad this entire pg. If its at the top of your stomach it sounds like digestive cramps. It scares me too and I always bring it up to my doctor and he always tells me the same thing...A lot is going on down there..your digesting stuff more slowly and your organs are being pushed around. When mine get bad I drink a ton of water, take Tylenol and rest. Hope you feel better!
  • turns out the cramping was related to a bladder and kidney infection.I am on class b antibioics :o(
