diaper rash from cefdinir

This is the worst antibiotic DD has ever taken. After 3 days she has the worst diaper rash I have ever seen. Her whole butt/labia area is bring red and burning. And she is oozing bright red blood from the skin around her anus. DD is crying so hard when I change her diaper that she is sweating.

Has anyone's DC had this reaction to this antibiotic?

I am at my wit's end. I don't know which is worse- the side effects from Cefdinir or the original ear infection.

    yes! and then he was put on nyastatin (which didn't work) because it turned into a YI and then onto clotramisole w/betamethasone

    horrible!

    DD had a bad one last week and I tried an oatmeal bath and it was like I was dipping her is acid.  I HATE diaper rashes. 

    the Maalox/diaper rash cream worked great for us.

    DS was on that antibiotic a bunch of times for ear infections last year. I do remember him getting diaper rashes from it, but I think we just used his usual Desitin cream on them.
