Hunger

Ok I know a lot of you are going through the same thing, hunger, hunger hunger.  I was wondering if you have found any foods that may stick with you longer and keep you feeling full.  I have tried high protein food and drinking water and nothing works.  I literally just ate dinner and my stomach is already growling.  I am a Type I Diabetic so I am trying not to eat all of the time to keep my numbers under control but I can't seem to pick the right foods. TIA

Re: Hunger

  • How often are you eating? My doctor told me to eat about 8 smalls things a day, never an actual large meal...that keeps you full constantly.

  • Will your insurance cover a visit with a dietitian?(sp??) or a nutritionist?  I'm not much help, but I seem to remember when my SIL got diagnosed with GD, her OB sent her to one and it was covered.  She got a whole list of things she should be eating, and what combined foods were good for diabetics.  GL!

Well I do have my 3 meals a day, not big by any means.  Then I snack in between with yogurt or apple and peanut butter etc.  The problem I'm having is no matter how often I eat or regardless what I eat, I'm hungry in minutes.

Yes I've met with a nutritionist for ds and for some odd reason I don't remember being hungry with him as often as I am now.  I told Dh, I'm carrying a monster.

  • I am always hungry, but I can't eat very big meals.  I found that out really, really quick.  If I eat too much I feel absolutely awful for an hour.  So now I just eat little things throughout the day - a piece of cheese, a handful of nuts, a salad.

I'm having a hard time finding a good eating groove, but hopefully it will come to me soon.
