Questions re Jumperoos

Hi MoMs!

How old were your kids when/if you got jumperoos?

Did you buy more than one? Before we had our twins, people told us to buy two of everything, but so far, we have 1 of everything except for cribs, car seats & bouncy chairs.

Lastly, please recommend yours.

 Thanks!!

Re: Questions re Jumperoos

  • We have a jumperoo and an exosaucer, they flip back and forth between them. The jumperoo is a Baby Einstein, it has a piano that makes music (I didn't put the batteries in), it has a mirror and a bunch of other things. DS loves it. It has a spring at each corner, we tried out a FP Rainforest jumperoo over Christmas that only has 3 springs and he seemed to bounce all over the place whereas his keeps him going up and down rather than side to side. Unless you have room for 2 and they both like it get 2, otherwise I would stick with just one. We bought one of each entertainment toy except the bumbos, so they can rotate through everything.

  • I put them in the jumperoo at 4 months, but they didnt start getting it (like actual jumping) until 5 months.

Like the PP, we have 1 jumperoo and 1 exercauser and they rotate between the two.  It works for us!  I think having 2 of each may be over-kill...I'd get different toys (like a leapfrog table) instead.

  • They were 4m.
We started with one, then bought a second when we realized how much they both loved it. :)

We have one Fisher-Price deluxe Jump for Lights and Music jumperoo (old and ugly but certainly functional; got it for $35 at the MoM sale)

and a FP Rainforest Jumperoo (got it used in great condition for $30!).

  • We have a jumperoo and an exersaucer and started using them at 4 mo. I am borrowing them from friends, but we use them both every day.

In the morning they play in them after they eat and it gives me a chance to make coffee, eat something, and make all the bottles for the day! :o)

We have the Baby Einstein jumperoo (probably 5 years old and still in great shape) and this evenflo exersaucer .

FWIW: They are great - but they don't use them that long and they are kinda pricey. If you can borrow some or get them used somewhere I would recommend that. They come totally apart and can be cleaned.

  • I have the same exact ones as Mrs Bee, 1 of each. They're so big & it's easy to switch them b/w them, plus activity mat & other toys, etc.

The Baby E jumper's seat is enormous, my almost 6 month olds who are in the 50-75th %ile swim in it & I have to put blankets around them. They use jumpers & exersaucers at day care & still don't really get the jumping thing, I'm not sure why. They do get how to play with the different toys on them though.  The exersaucer might be a little overstimulating...there are 4 diff parts that require batteries but I didn't have enough so only 2 parts have them right now & I think I might just rotate the batteries so there isnt so much stuff making noise. Although the arch thing doesn't appear to work & I'm too lazy to return the whole thing right now (it was a huge pita to put together).
