Who else is going to push for early kindergarten

    I feel like Nathan is behind now- since he can read his letters and numbers and not just recite them and he's not even 2 years and 11 months... I think I should've started him in K last September. I should call tomorrow and see if he can start this September Stick out tongue

    Screw that, we're SKIPPING kindergarten. My daughter is going directly to 4th grade. And my son, who isnt quite as advanced as his sister, will have to settle for starting at 2nd grade.

    well hell I will be holding my Nathan back until he is 10 as he only knows how to count to 3 (thanks to 123 magic), knows very little of the alphabet and only a handful of colors (he is 2 and 4 months), he is so screwed ; P

    Well, I'd like to push for early kindergarten.  My dd will turn 5 on Thanksgiving making her too young to enter kindergarten next fall (the cutoff is the first day of school).  I believe she is ready for kindergarten.  I've taught in this district for 18 years and the cutoff used to be December 31st.  With the old cutoff dd would be going to kindergarten this coming year.  My nephew will start kindergarten this coming September because his birthday is the 3rd of September.  My dd and nephew are in preschool now.  This is their second year.  My dd has no difficulty with the curriculum and is social appropriate and is in the class where all the kids who are going to kindergarten.   I would move her ahead if permitted.  I think it depends on the child.

    considering that my kids are in Kindergarten I can say that counting to 20 and knowing your ABC's will get your through about the first two weeks.
