Besides SnapNGo and Graco, what stroller(s) are you buying and why?

I have began the hunt and am curious as to what you are doing for stroller and if there is a particular reason why (ex: I live in the city, need  something easy to fold up in car, something for long walks and jogs, my friends recommended it, it looks so cool, etc...).

  • I know they are spendy but I would HIGHLY recommend the Phil and Teds espcially if you're thinking of having a second child.  I think it pays off and wish we would've got one from the start.  We had a Graco which was fine but now that #2 is on the way we need a double stroller.  I wanted something more compact so we decided to go with the Phil and Teds so we can also use it as a single if need be.  Now I wish I would've put the money I spent towards the Graco on the Phil and Teds because we have no use for the Graco.  And I think the Phil and Teds will resell well on Craig's List.  Just my two cents.

  • I think we are going to go with the Baby Trend Expedition Travel System Stroller.  It's the only travel system I found that was a jogging stroller and I knew I really wanted a jogging stroller.  Also, DH and I went to BRU where they had the stroller set up.  We were able to see how easy it is to collapse, adjust, take the carrier off the stroller, ect.  It is also VERY easy to maneuver and make sharp turns with.

  • City Mini - I was all for the Maclaren Techno XLR b/c of the easy fold but then the salesperson showed me the mini and I fell in love. It is lighter then the Maclaren, folds so friggin easy. I can fold it with one arm while holding baby in the other and it's easier to carry then an umbrella stroller folded. The bigger wheels will allow me to get through some snow and sand but aren't too huge where they become a pain. It's not a jogging stroller but it's made like one so it gets in and out of places very easily and rides smoothly. It's comfy for both DH (6'5) and myself 5'8 to use. Also, the big thing is they havea  car seat adaptor and now it also works for Chicco brands so I can use this stroller from infant (day 1) till they are done using a stroller.
  • We bought both a travel system and a jogging stroller for DS.  The jogging stroller was amazing - it's great not only for jogging (duh) but also trips to the zoo, the mall etc.  It quickly became our go-to stroller.  If I could go back I would have just bought a jogging stroller that can accomodate an infant seat.

For this reason I really want the Bumbleride Indie Twin.  It's an all terrain stroller that can be used for running (it's not really a jogging stroller, but lots of people I know use it for running).  It also fits an infant car seat, turns on a dime and looks amazing!  I can't wait to get one!!

  • Bugaboo Cameleon- we bought it used from a friend for a lot less $$ than you'd pay for a new one. Plus I've heard fantastic things about their durability and safety. I've talked to lots of people who have them (they are ALL OVER NYC!!) and everyone seemed really happy. However we would not have bought it new- we might have registered for it and crossed our fingers. The bad thing about it is it doesn't fold up. You can take the two pieces apart pretty easily though.
  • We registered for the Jeep Liberty Jogger.  A graco carseat will snap right into it when the time comes

  • We're getting the Graco carseat/stroller frame for mall trips and whatnot, but the BOB Revolution (with infant seat attachment) will be our primary stroller. We have a large dog, who I walk every day, and LO needs to be able to participate. The Revolution is a jogging stroller, but the front wheel isn't fixed -- you can lock it in place for a jog, but unlock it for other excursions. (For instance, I might lock it in place to run down to the zoo, but once we got to the zoo, I would unlock it for maneuverability.)
  • We registered for and got the Chicco Trevi.  We used it a few times but now it stays at Grandmas. I always step on the wheels when walking and it is hard to carry when it is folded.  But it works well for short trips and it isn't huge, but much more comfy to push and for DS than a small umbrella stroller.

I love our BOB Revolution.  This is now what we use all the time.  The ride is so smooth and it is very roomy for DS.

Now, top on my list for a double is Valco Tri Mode Twin, for an all terrain double, a toddler seat and hitch hiker can be added.  But it is expensive and I haven't seen it in person because there is no stores around here that carry it.

This is the set that DH and I saw at BBB and loved, too.  Plus, bonus for us, it's Buckeye colors:):)

  • We went with a Maclaren Techno XT because I found a really great deal on a previous year's model at TJ Maxx and I wanted a Maclaren anyway.  I liked Maclarens best when I went to BRU to test them out--they were just so easy to manuveur compared to others.  I also really like the adjustable handlebars and they do fold up very easily.  It also fully reclines so you can use it from day 1.  I wanted a high quality lightweight stroller because we're mostly going to be using it for the everyday activities--shopping, etc.

I also got a Jeep All-Terrain stroller for walks.  I got it used off craigslist.  It has very high reviews for its price range (like $170 or so new).  It is supposed to be great for when you have a bit more terrain to get over--getting through grass, on gravel country roads (like at Grandma's) etc.  But it is REALLY heavy (27 pounds or so) and takes up the vast majority of the trunk of my SUV.  So I wouldn't recommend that if you are wanting something you can easily haul around in the car!

  • I am getting a Quinny Zapp because apparently it is the only stroller that will fit in the trunk of my Mini! I also have an UppaBaby that my brother gave me as a hand-me-down, but that will be only for walking around the neighborhood, since it comes nowhere close to fitting in my car.
  • We ordered the I'coo Targo in Houndstooth by Grand Touring Baby and I LOVE it. I really wanted a pram, adjustable height for the handle since my DH is 6'3" and I am 5'4", universal car seat adapter, front or rear facing seat, adjustable seat height, large storage basket, and of course safety. I also fell in love with the basic colors - ours is nearly all black with houndstooth accents with a little bit of red accenting the houndstooth. Overall it just works great for our situation we have a lot of upscale shopping areas and parks that I will be able to walk through easily - the suspension on the stroller is great! However, I also had to  plan purchasing a new SUV around the stroller I wanted - to ensure it would fit without being difficult for me to get in and out - so we purchased a Chevy Traverse - the hatch opens with the press of a button and the stroller fits vertically for easy access. the I'coo definitely is not small by any means so for anyone looking for a very light compact stroller I would not recommend it - especially when using the pram piece vs. toddler seat. The nice part about the I'coo is it did come with all of the accessories - the pram was not sold seperately, it came with winter bunting, a rain cover, storage bag for whichever seat you are currently not using, as well as the universal car seat adapter. For the price of $599 in my opinion it was a great deal.
  • We plan to get a City Mini and I will register for a Snap & Go since the City Mini doesn't fit the Key Fit 30.

We still plan to look at the Phil & Ted before purchasing the City Mini since we'd like to have a second child soon after our first.

We liked the City Mini because I can handle it with no problems, I am 5ft and some of the other strollers, like the BOB was harder for me to fold and lift into the car. The tires also passed DH's inspection! He's been adamant on not having plastic tires. It doesn't hurt that it is pretty cute :)

  • We just "test drove" strollers yesterday.  We are going with the Baby Jogger City Mini and the Britax Chaperone Infant Car Seat.  This stroller is awesome.  It's not bulky or cumbersome, but sleek and minimal.  It folds up like super easily and maneuverability is great.  I can't wait to get it.
