Just know that it doesn't take that long. Good luck!!

Love & luck to my 3TC girls. Congrats to Omega-The boys are here!
If there's one thing I've learned while waiting my turn,
it's that in each life some rain falls but you also get some sun.
After 2 years & 2 losses, our little man arrived 8-2011.
You'll be fine! I took some ibuprofen about an hour before and it wasn't that bad. It's mildly uncomfortable and then you feel like you have really bad AF cramps for about 30 seconds and then you're done. Good luck!

Trust me, the anticipation is definitely worse. My HSG was uncomfortable (it felt like strong menstrual cramps) but was over before I knew it. I remember thinking "ok, this kind of sucks, I hope it doesn't get worse than this", and then it was over.
Just focus on getting through it. It's a very important test, but you'll pobably never have to do it again. Good luck!

Mine was quick and almost painless. I had one menstrual-like cramp and that was it. I've had paps that were more uncomfortable! And I forgot to take the ibuprofen. GL!

yes, usually the anticipation/uncertainty is worse.
It is really quick- so if it does hurt, it's over soon. I hope it's quick and painless! Just take some pain meds before hand. I took ibuprofen. and bring pads.
Good luck!! I am a huge baby too, and it was fine. Truthfully it did hurt pretty bad for a few sec. b/c my tube was clogged w/ gunk and it hurt when they were flushing the dye through that tube. But as soon as I thought- 'this hurts'- it was over!
I totally stressed and freaked out and it was not that bad. Just try to stay calm and relaxed...it's quick and hopefully all will be great with the results!
After 2+ years and multiple treatment cycles, including an IVF vacation in Costa Rica/Panama, IVF #2 brought us our miracle baby!
If it's any consolation, my HSG was quick and painless.
Me too! No cramps afterward or anything either. (I did take 4 Advil an hour before the procedure though!) Good luck!
Mr. & Mrs. UMich! July 2006! :-) DX: High FSH/DOR
It took 44 cycles, just over 3 years, 6 failed IUI's in MI, and 1 round of IVF at CCRM to get our BFP!
Beta #1 (9dp5dt) = 206, Beta #2 (11dp5dt) = 438
1st u/s @ 6w5d = 11/11/11 = ONE little bean! HB 120bpm! ?Our Baby Boy Born June 26th, 2012?
I am the world's biggest baby. I cried all day when I had the stomach virus last week, If I could do it you could! Remember to take your motrin and bring a pad ( I really didn't even need a pad) and like previous poster said it will go quickly. Good luck!
Oh hun, you'll be fine. I was really scared for mine as well and it was over in a few minutes. Good luck!
TTC #1 w/ endo since Sept 2005. After many losses, a lap, tons of meds and tons of testing and, one failed IVF cycle, we were blown away with a surprise, sticky BFP...it's a girl!!!
I just had my HSG on Friday and was scared to death too. Even felt a little panicky beforehand. I took some ibuprofen about a hour beforehand and I think it helped. Like others have said, I felt AF like cramps for a minute but it was over pretty quickly!
GL and I hope it's painless for you!

Afterwards, I think you will say, "I'm sorry I wasted any time worrying about this!" I was uncomfortable during mine, but I wouldn't say I experienced serious pain. Just be prepared for a bit of cramping, and to feel like you have to poop.
I was sooo freaked out before my HSG...it was totally painless and really quick. I hope yours is as well. I am sure that the anticipation is the worse of it. Good luck!
"Nobody said it would be easy, they just said it would be worth it."

My HSG wasn't all that bad. It was just like AF cramps. Its also over very quickly. Good luck.
Edit: I took a couple of ibuprophen before the hsg. I think it did help.

No, no, it is totally uneventful. Remember to take some aspirin beforehand. It's not that bad, a little uncomfortable but it's over quickly.
