Hey Ladies-
Yes, me again! I did post about the nipple cream, and it still (5 months later!) is a God send. It is called All Purpose Nipple cream, and it is a compounded cream made by Custom Prescriptions on Duke Street in lancaster. You do need a prescription from your doctor for it. I found out about it because of a tear I have on the outside of my nipple, which is still torn, from breastfeeding. The cream has an ibprofen powder in it so I know that that helps with the pain. If it were not for this cream, I would have had to stop breast feeding on my left side, it really has continued to help me and when I was at my worse pain, it took the pain from a 9/10 down to like a 4/10 and took the pain out of my arm and down my side. I had called the Lactation consultants at Womens and babies and they are the ones who recommended it. As I had said above you do need a prescription, so I'd call the lactation consultants and ask them about it, then ask your doc to prescribe it, or just tell your doc thats what was recommended and see if they can give you the prescription for it. I think it costs around $50 for a 30 mg tube? I think the one tube lasted me at first for a month. You put it on, just a small amount after the baby finishes feeding, once your nipple has air dried and you do not need to wipe it off before the next feeding, which is nice. The pharmacist and all of the helpers at custom prescriptions are wonderful. They are very understanding and helpful. They even have offered to ship out here to Cali! Good luck! I know that nipple pain sucks and this was my life saver!
