DH just texted me from work and told me going out to dinner with his buddy and his wife when he's off. I wish I could just call and say I was going out with my friends and not have to worry about a thing. Must be nice. I could scream right now.

    We have had that argument a lot lately. He says 'I am going mtn biking" or "I am going to work in the garage." Really? How about you be sympathetic to me needing some time to myself too!

    LOL! Cora, don't you know that taking a shower and brushing your teeth are luxuries. We are lucky that our DH's watch DS some weeks so we can do it. But, not every week that is ludacris! Who needs to shower once a week? I mean that might actually make us feel sexy.

    And you know what the worse part is? I won't say a word to him about it. I'll just keep my mouth shut to avoid a fight because I simply don't have the energy to do it. He tells me he's going and I just say "K". I'm just done!!! I am anti-husband tonight.

    Man, I'm sorry Cora. That really sucks. I'd be pissed too. Why is it that they still get to have lives?  They helped create the kid. Shouldn't we got extra time since we carried them and gave birth?

    I've seriously gone through this so many times I don't have it left in me to fight it. At least not tonight. Hence, the b*tching and the cake.

    I told DH that I wanted some jnealet time once a month for my birthday.  He's taking her shopping tomorrow (for birthday gifts for me!!). 

    It did take him 10 months though....

    I told DH I want at least 45 minutes a day of me time, just to do something as simple as shower or work out when he comes home from work.  So far, this has only happened once.  I think sometimes we need to be more assertive about what we need as new moms, so we don't become mommy martyrs.

    I think you're right. I shouldn't feel guilty asking to take a shower.

    You're definitely right. I shouldn't feel guilty about asking for/taking some me time. But I do. Ugh.

    Well, he called when he got off work and told me he was on his way to the restaurant. He said "Are you sure you don't mind?" At that point I just said "Do what you want" and made an excuse to get off the phone so I didn't get worked up. I still don't think he got the hint.
