Heartburn...any remedies?

Hey ladies, I have really miserable heartburn. I sleep in a sitting position most of the time and TUMS only seem last for a little bit. Is there anything that you've tried that has helped? I'm desperate. My next appt. with the doc is a couple weeks away... I'll bring it up then but in the mean time, let me know if something works for you pretty please...

  • Sometimes a small glass of milk will help me.

  • You can take OTC Zantac, it is perfectly safe!

This is why I love my OB's office because they provided a list of medications that are safe to take depending on what symptoms you are having!  I'm surprised more ladies don't know that they can take Zantac!

ditto! I warm mine up and put a little honey in it.

  • I've been chugging mylanta:) It's not yummy, but it works.
  • I feel better after drinking some Sprite.  It helps me burp, and works for me.  Good luck!
  • My sis is a pharmacist, and was visiting me when I had some bad heartburn.  She gave me TUMS, but said that they really only work because the calcuim binds with stomach acid.  You can get the same benefit from eating food with calcuim.... so I've had a huge bowl of ice cream every night since.  It's been working for me!
