  • Oh Gen, I'm so sorry :(  I don't know much about AMH - what can be done for that?

  • I am so sorry you got this news.  BUT.....it is not a death sentence, and please don't let it define you or ruin your hope & faith.  4 months prior to our IVF cycle, my AMH was .7....not that far off from yours.  It can and does still happen for those w/ lower AMH.  You may not have as many eggs (we only had 5 mature), but they can still be great quality!  Please don't give up.

  • Gen, is this a DOR Dx? I thought you had a reasonable amount of eggs retrieved at ER (am I forgetting?)

Also I just Dr. Googled and they said that AMH doesn't necessarily indicate anything about egg quality. This is at least a good thing.

What are they saying for IVF #2?

Don't give up, hopefully things will be much better for IVF#2 now that you know more about your situation and how to treat it.

What are they saying for IVF #2?

Niki - they were threatening cancellation my entire cycle because my E2 wasn't going up, even though the follicles were growing and the lining was responding.

Finally at retrieval, my E2 was 1000 and we got 5 mature eggs.  But it was touch and go until then.

My FSH is normal and my AFC was 14-15 this cycle. But even so, half way through the cycle the RE started talking about DOR because of the way I was responding. I thought it was the lupron - i guess it still might have been, but only partly.

I've only spoken to my nurse so far. My doctor was in surgery when they called. I'm expecting to hear from him tomorrow.

My nurse knew how badly i wanted the results, that's the only reason why she told me. He hasn't even reviewed them yet.

    I'm so scared right now.

  • Gen I am so sorry that you are going through this right now. I know when the nurse had called me back last cycle and told me my FSH was as high as it was, I was almost in the bathroom ready to throw up because I felt that that was it and I was screwed! I of course then went online and googled for hours and hours while balling my eyes out!!

Finally I called the office and told the answering service to page my Dr. at like 830 at night! I have to have faith that with all the meds/procedures etc., somehow I will have that healthy baby.

I know its hard and I am not saying we are in the situation but just know that whatever it is, I am sure in the end it will be fine. They can do so much these days!

I honestly say have the Dr paged. We have been through so much and pay a lot of $$ to see your RE. You deserve a call back. That is what they are there for.

Again, I am so sorry that you are feeling these awful thoughts and thinking the worst! I know it is not fun!!

    ((hugs))

I know he'll call me tomorrow. There's no point to calling him tonight, when he hasn't even sat down and looked at my results yet.

    thank you for the hugs.
