I'm planning on telling my bosses next week after my appointment. I've only been here 4 weeks, and telling people I barely know makes me nervous. How did you let your bosses know?

Re: How did you tell work?
I told work pretty early - about 8 weeks - for the simple fact that pregnancy is a protected disability. We are reducing our workforce in some areas, and I wanted to make sure I was as "protected" as possible. I realize if they were going to lay me off anyway me being pregnant wouldn't stop them - but it sure wouldn't look great in court to lay off the newly pregnant woman right before you move to self-insured!
Anyway! All that to say: We came in 2nd place in the Birmingham Business Journal Top 10 Places to Work so we threw a party for our Birmingham office. As we were setting up (I work in HR, so of course, it was us throwing the party!) I told my department that I had a present for us "winning", but it wouldn't be delivered until next May - and then showed them the ultrasound. Everybody was super excited and started screaming, jumping, and hugging me. Probably not the most professional way to do it - but my department is really close, so it works.
I pulled my immediate editor aside when I first found out I was pregnant because I wanted someone to know what was going on. I was already getting pretty bad morning sickness at that point and she would have guessed anyways, I think.
She kept it a secret in the office though and I told our executive editor and everyone else around 12 weeks.
