I am currently finishing up my first week back at work from my LO. I have pumped this week, twice a day, at work and she has taken all of it the next day. I do not have much of a supply in the freezer. What are some things that you all have done that have helped a lot with getting a stock built up or have you found it more useful to just have what the need on hand?
Re: Tips for newly back to work BF mom?
If you haven't yet, read the book "the milk memos"
If she's taking all you pump, you may want to pump this weekend too....that can start a 'stash' for you in case you run short in the future. Or add a 3rd session during the day, or one at night, etc.
I used pump twice during the day at work, and also once in the morning right before leaving. I would nurse DS right when we woke up, then we would all get ready for work/daycare and DH would watch DS while I pumped right before we went out the door. This extra pumping was a big help to me. It allowed me to freeze a little extra every day, which was comforting, but it also made it more comfortable for me to space my work-day pumpings to only twice a day. I would also pump once or twice during the weekend (usually the morning session).
Good luck!
