Hello,
I am 34 years old a mother of three and expecting number 4, However there has been some complications. I went to the hospital on December 20,2009 complaining of lower abdominal pain. To my astonishment the Dr, said they believe that I am aving an eptopic pregnancy and that tey would have to give me emergency sergery. Saddened about everything I had prepared my self they were going to take the baby. I knew I had fribroids with this pregnancy but nothing else. Tomake a long story short, I came out of sergery and the Doctors said good news your still pregnant, baby is ok but u had something called a bicorneal uterus, so we removed par of te uterus and baby is growing in the other uterus. The doctors said this is very rare and a miricle. My concern is that I've had 3 c-sections with my other children and Im due June 25,2010. and will be having another c-section. Im still trying to recover from this sergery. I am now high risk because of the sergey and complications, has any one experienced something similar or could give me any suggestions or advice? It would be highly appreciated. Thanks in Advance.
Re: High Risk Pregnancy
Seriously? You've had THREE previous sections and no one bothered to tell you about a bicorneal uterus? I mean, the first thing you'll find if you Google it will tell you that this is obvious to diagnos during a c-section.
And, I'm sorry, but no doctor would immediately take you in for surgery without having obvious confirmation of a pregnancy being ectopic, and even if they HAD, I guarantee that the procedure to fix an ectopic would not have found such a unusual ute that three previous sections had missed. No way.
Considering some of the risk the women on this board are facing, please don't be surprised if you get either (A) a LOT of questions about this post, or (B) no more responses than mine.

This.
Also, I know next to nothing about having a bicorneal uterus, but I was questioning whether a doctor would actually do surgery on the uterus while a woman was pregnant. Seems unsafe
Exactly what I was thinking.....
