If you have purchased a play and pack in the past year and used it as a bassinet for a newborn could you please provide your recommendations? and why? (I?m concerned about uneven bassinet beds inside the PNP which causes newborns to roll and the quality and your personal use of the attached changing table).
Re: Recommend your Play and Pack
We used PNPs for six months maybe in the living room. MIL used one constantly. It made life so much easier.
I use a Graco PNP with the Newborn napper pulled up right next to my bed. I currently use the bassinet level for storing all the things I need during the night. I do not get out of bed at all during the night.I use a diaper caddy and changing pad on the bed and do not use the changer on the PNP (because I have a mesh tent over my PNP and the changer will not fit).
It has a little vibration thing which she really seems to like.
We got the Chicco Lullaby play yard and LOVE it.
The bassinet floor is the same as the lower portion - very sturdy but nicely quilted and comfortable. We have zero complaints about it - it was the best one we found.
FWIW, we never use the changing table attachment. We just change her by throwing a travel pad on the bassinet.
We used an Arms Reach Co-Sleeper as a bassinet. Highly recommend it. We liked it becasue it had a higher weight limit than most PnP's, and we were able to use it unitl she was 6 months old (didn't want to move her to the crib yet).
It's heavy and harder to assemble than most PnP's so we couldn't really pack it, lol. I bought a cheap used Graco PnP for travel and play dates.
