Took her to the Dr tonight because she's had a cough (not her funny I like to hear myself make a cough noise) for a week or so now and just not herself, The poor little thing has been coughing like crazy in her sleep too so she's not getting good quality sleep. DH said that he thought the cough was getting worse. So tonight we took her and she didn't see usual Dr. she saw another one (acutally he's the youngest Dr on staff there) everything sounds and looks good, except Dr. says I don't want to freak you guys out but I do hear a little bit a murmur, so why don't you set up an appointment with said pediatric cardiologist and just make sure everything is alright. He said most likely worst case senario is that it's a whole that didn't close up in between her two chambers that a lot of babies are born with and eventually fixes itself...most of the time. DH said he's surprised our other Dr didn't find that before in her checkups. My parents and I all have Mitral Valve Prolapse but he doesn't think that's what it is.We're calling in the am to set up an appointment. ...I"m just really really worried about.

I'm sorry to hear that! I'm sure everything will be ok, but I know it must be scary. DH has a heart murmur and the worst thing is that he has to take an antibiotic before going to the dentist! It's always been a non-issue.
Good luck & keep us posted!
I hope everything is ok! I would be worried too, but maybe her own Dr can put your mind at ease and find nothing on a follow up!
Good luck!
I had a heart murmur and my brother had the "hole in his heart" and neither one of us was ever bothered by it. My murmur went away by the time I was a teen. My brother has to take amoxicillian before he sees the dentist, something about oral bacteria can settle in the heart or something. It's never stopped him from doing anything and it closed when he was in his teens.
I know it's probably really scary so just hug her tight and try not to worry too much.
I am really late replying, but I just wanted to let you know that almost the same exact thing happened when I was a baby and they found out that I had a hole in my heart. My mom was so upset and terrified, but it eventually closed up on its own and it has never been an issue for me. I don't even need the medicine before I go to the dentist or anything like that, I think now I am considered to have an "innocent murmur", but it has never affected me in any way.
Good luck and keep us posted. I can imagine that you will be a wreck until everything is figured out.
