I just came back from the Dr. and have a UTI. I'm nervous! He went on and on about how it can cause miscarriage etc. I had a bit of spotting today too. Should I be nervous? How common are UTI's in pregnancy. This is my first pregnancy...
my SIL had a UTI when she was pregnant thought she was miscarrying (was bleeding and cramping) went to the ER and they gave her meds was gone in a few days and my nephew is now happy healthy and almost 5 months old stop worrying you will be ok!
Untreated they can become complicated and there's a risk of going into premature labor (my midwife did mention that when I had one), but since I'm assuming he was putting you on antibiotics that comment was a bit out of line!
I had a UTI about a month ago that I didnt even know I had it showed up when they tested urine at my appointment but I had no symptoms. My midwife did not seem concerned she gave me 10 days of antibiotics and told me my biggest concern should be that the meds may cause a yeast infection so I would not worry to much.
