Don't yell at me!

Ok ok.. I know I am NOT supposed to paint the nursery, but... I don't completely trust my SO to do a good job, like I want it done (can you say anal?) my dad mentioned to me on the phone that they have come out with a new paint that is "mommy to be safe" but couldn't remember the name. So I have been googling it, but can't find it!

Anyone heard of it? Or, has anyone painted their nursery but used a certain brand of paint.

    Low VOC paint.  My local Home Depot said most of their paints are mommy to be safe.

    VOC-Free paint? This is what I've heard is safer.

    My chiropractor said not to use any paint, just to be cautious, but her husband is a DIY-expert. Those of us who are really picky about our paint jobs will suffer more from the stress of watching someone else paint the nursery than we will from the fumes. :)

    According to my doctor, any paint is safe. Just be sure to ventilate the room.

    BTW, Dads seem to be "the authority" on the things that mothers to be CAN'T do. I think it's their way of being in control/protecting their daughters. Don't ask me how I know this.  : )

    You are NOT kidding. My dad has even found a prenatal vitamin that he thinks I must take for my child to be more alert. And he calls everyday to ask what I have eated and if I have walked. lol

    Both Lowes and Home depot have it. We used regular paing (my dh painted most of it, but I helped). We used a fan and kept the windows open.

    Sounds good to me! I am a SAH(pregnant lady) with no life, lol, I am on here pretty often.

    We have been re-painting our house and use Dutch Boy Refresh.  It is low VOC (or maybe VOC free, I'm not sure).

    Sherwin Williams also sells a No VOC and low VOC.  We used the Duration low VOC for our nursery.

    We used Benjamin Moore Natura which is VOC free. Here's the kicker on all of this, the paint is low VOC or VOC free, but the tint to make it colored isn't. THe more saturated the color the higher the VOC. So even if you use low or no VOC make sure it's ventilated.

    These are OSHA standards.

    We'll use low VOC paint too, but I am still not painting! I am taking the opportunity to relax and let DH do the work while I have a legit excuse ;)

    I trust him to do a good job, and I don't think he would want me to paint anyway (he's very nervous about toxins and the baby).
