I want my mother there but I'm still sorta on the fence. I don't want her to miss out on the experience but I also don't want a lot of people in there.

My mother and SO. His mother is she is on shift (she works in that department).
The other normal staff as well. Lol. But I don't want interns there. I know they need to learn but not with me. Although I don't think my hospital is big with interns.
Hopefully my DH (pending that he is not deployed to Haiti in the next couple of weeks), and if not, it will be just me and GOD! And the medical staff of course...

Just my husband. My hospital still has a 1-person-allowed rule because of swine flu, so I didn't have to worry about telling MIL she couldn't be there!
And a note on "interns." A true intern is a medical resident, which means he/she is a REAL DOCTOR. That's why they have "Dr." on their white coat. Most of the time, you can't request not to have them in the room, because they're an integral part of the physician team (especially at big academic hospitals). Medical students, however, are another story--and where there are residents, you usually find med students (look for the short coats--and run!). I'm kidding--kind of. My husband is a 4th year med student. But we've both decided no med students in our delivery. Neither of us really want his classmates to see my vag (for one), and it can complicate matters (for two).
In short...you can't really ask for residents/interns not to be there. But you CAN ask for no med students--and you should! It will simplify the whole process.
Re: Who will be in your labor room during birth?
