OMG!  That was awful!!!  RE mentions that there might be some cramping as she inserts the cath to measure my uterus.  That was no problem.  She then tells me she's going to start the sonohysterogram and start inserting the saline.  I nearly jumped off the table!!!  No "hey this may hurt a little" warning!  Granted, it passed quickly, but each time they pumped in more saline hurt like hell!!  So happy that is over!
TTC since 5/08
12/08 DX - irregular cycles - unexplained IF
2/09 - 4/09 - Clomid, TI
5/09 - 12/09 - 4 IUI
3/10 - 7/10 - 2 IVF
11/10 - Frozen Transfer
3/11 - Dx Insulin Resistant & Hypoglycemic - treating w/ Metformin & diet

    Sorry you had a bad SHG :( Mine hurt, too. The nurse said "Oh, don't worry; it's not nearly as bad as the HSG". For most people that's true, but not for me.

    The HSG was a little uncomfortable, but nothing even close to this!  Glad to hear I'm not the only one who felt this way.

    Oh hon I'm so sorry you had a painful experience. My HSG was so effing awful that I was terrified for the SHG and (for me anyway) it was a breeze. It's amazing how different our bodies all are!

    Sorry you were in pain!  It wasn't so bad for me when I was actually having it done, but they also sent bubbles up my tubes to check them, and some of them escaped and went up into my shoulders.  I had absolutely horrible electric shooting pain in my shoulders and neck for about 36 hours afterwards...I didn't even think it was connected until I looked it up online and saw others who had the same problem.
