Is Frances a terrible middle name?

I persnally like middle names to honor someone, dd #1's mn is my grandmothers middle name. My absolute most favorite relative (and possibly person in general) is my grandfather- his name is terrible and he hates it so I would never dream of naming a boy after him- he would be pissed, but his middle name is Francis. I am not sure why it never occured to me with dd#1 or until just now with this one to give a girl Frances as a middle name in honor of him. But I honestly am not in love with the name, but I would love to name her after him.

Lila Frances sounds great! I actually LOVE the name Frances and it's not even a family name for us. I just think it's a nice, classic name and I love the sound of it. We already settled on a name for this LO but if we were to have another girl in the future, I would consider it for a first or middle.

I agree with everyone for the most part. Frances is not my favorite name but it goes great with Lila and is honoring someone very special to you.

Francis is my DS's middle name. Honestly it is not my favorite name in the world and if I chose his name, I probably wouldn't have chosen it had it not been a family name. BUT - I do love it because it is a family name and it has special meaning, so I say do it. I think middle names especially are great for honoring family members you love.

thanks for all the opinions ladies! glad to know others don't think it is a terrible name. I asked dh and he said he liked the name before he even knew why I wanted it and once I told him why he is 100% on board- he thinks my grandfather is awesome too and thinks it would be a great thing that he will love
