In tears and getting BH and cant breath

I had a resident come in and scream at me because she lives on a private road and its dirt and its flooded due to the rain hitting us hard since Sunday. She came in as I was trying to leave Tuesday and I stayed late to help her and then I talked to her several times yesterday and gave her several numbers to try to help and I talked with several agencies to try and help her and she came in today and screamed at me that I was giving her the run around, that I dont want to take responsiblity all I want to do is pass the buck then goes on to continue screaming at me and I feel my eyes welling up and then I couldnt breath and my stomach tightened up adn she continued to yell at me so I held my composure until she finally walked away and then broke down.

In the midst of her yelling she told me I was gross for being pregnant because she's a 52 year old virgin. The baby was kicking me like crazy but I couldnt just walk or run away because I could lose my job for that. And anytime I would try and say anything she would cover her ears and yell that she didnt want to hear any of my negativity. People were around but wouldnt say anything or help if she cought someone looking she'd look at them and say God Bless You.

Once she walked away she went to go talk to the City Manager and we've got layoffs coming up next month and I am this doesnt make me look good. So I went into the Conference Room and was so upset and I am still worked up and teary eyed.

So I called DH and he tried to play it off like I was dumb for being upset.

    I can relate, angry residents can get to you so much more with the pregnancy emotions! I've always been able to handle the worst of them with ease, now I cry after they leave!

    Sounds like she's not a 52 year old virgin by choice.  No man would touch a b*tch hag like that!  I'm sure your supervisors could tell she was nuts and won't think poorly of you.

    Compose yourself, wash your face, drink a bottle or big glass of water and try to relax.  Weather it bump, take a walk (in the building?) or get a coke....

    ...what everyone else said, and shame on your DH for acting like you were dumb for being upset.  It's horrible to get yelled at like that even when you're not pregnant!  She's just a bitter old woman - think of all you'll have soon that she never will!

    What a hag!!  If her only problem was because of the road issue, she wouldn't be making personal comments on your pregnancy or her personal life.  I'm sure you're not the only one who thinks she is crazy--if she tries to talk to anyone else in that office they're going to know how nuts she is.  You were doing what you could in the capacity of your job and because it's not what she wants to hear she's going to complain.  I deal with awful residents in my apartment building on a daily basis, but I'm lucky enough that my asst manager and leasing agents try to deal with them before they get to me (they've been handling more of the crazies since I told them I'm expecting).  You deserve an ice cream after this!

    Thanks girls. I talked with the City Managers Secretary and she said I did nothing wrong and I went through all of the channels and tried my best and thats all I can do. I was also told if she comes in I am not to speak to her. If she calls just ignore the call. I have been sipping my water working on calming down all of the way and I feel like a bad mom right now because I got so worked up and upset and my LO had to deal with it.

    I feel you.  I just got BBQ'd in a City Council Meeting and it didn't even make any sense.  I mean honest to God, this specific council member has a particularly low IQ and a love of being in the paper so he goes off on tangents that are not only not related to the topic, but don't make any sense.  He makes me want to yell "SHOVE IT I HATE YOU AND YOU ARE MAKING A FOOL OF YOURSELF BECAUSE YOU'RE AN IDIOT!"

     

    We don't get paid enough for this crap.  I wouldn't worry about it, but I would go back and document all the conversations and steps and time lines of your dealings with her.  I would also document her inappropriate comment and report it.  If she comes in she'll look like a loon.

    Do not feel like you did anything wrong, to her or to your little one. Shame on her for attacking you. Shame on your co-workers by not coming to your aid. Shame on your hubby for not being more sympothetic.

    Take some deep breaths and rest. And enjoy that ice cream!

    I got really upset and stressed over some things yesterday and today and both times I felt something like BH contractions too. And cried yesterday. Our bodies just react to stress different now. Nothing we can do about it. Baby was probably kicking trying to try to get at that nasty woman for you!

    The public is stupid. I run a moms website. We had a contest last month and one of the winners blessed me out for something she did not read the instructions over. She freaking WON 4 tickets to Disney on Ice and she blesses me out because she can't go that day? It specifically said the date of the show. I got so upset since she blasted me on the site. Luckily some members came to my aid telling her to re-read the whole 6 sentence long detail/instructions!
