Without too many details:
Neighbor is having anxiety attacks over going to jail tomorrow (he drove on a suspended license in order to keep working- license was suspended for not paying child support in full- he was doing his best)
He also happens to be one of the most annoying and stoopid people we know.
So he keeps texting us to see if he can "borrow" some xanax or valium or anything really to help him calm his nerves. Um, no. One, it's illegal, and two, it's hard to get a prescription for valium, and I am not giving him mine.
I know he is scared, but he has done so many other craptastic things, that I think he is getting his due by having to do jail time, even if I don't agree with the real reason he is being put in.

I sure as shiit wouldn't give him any.
People asking to borrow things like pills, kleenex, food, etc. is a pet peeve of mine.
You are not acting like a douche.
The man is going to JAIL tomorrow, whether you agree with the reason or not. Now I'm not too familiar with the incarceration process but I'm willing to bet they do some kind of drug testing. When he pisses hot for a substance that he wasn't prescribed... do you really think he's going to keep quiet on where he got it? I think he's being the douche for expecting you to give him your meds.
Now, I would give DH one. And I know that is just as illegal.
I also think he needs to feel fully the stress of what is happening to him, so that he might make different choices in the future. Unfortunately, since he is not going in for the crappy things he's done, I doubt he will make the connection.
OMG, they do that too-"can I borrow some milk, an egg, oh wait two, a roll of TP" Every other frikin day it's something else! I try not to answer the door, but unfortunately, his girlfriend is our apartment manager...and our kids are friends.
Ugh.
Yes, you're a major douche.
Go give your criminal neighbor prescription drugs so he has them in his system when he goes to jail tomorrow. And he'll probably still have anxiety in jail, so you should think of a way to smuggle them to him there, too.
Aaaaaaaannnnddd, No. You're not a douche.
