Re: how long does colic last?

  • I don't know if my baby is super colicky - but i ordered COLICCALM online today.  He has such bad gas that it makes him seem colickly.  I am hoping this will help toease his belly and help him to sleep better at night!

  • it usually subsides past 3 months but can go longer.  Just to give you an idea, it was pure hell for us up until 2 1/2 weeks ago.  She turned 3 months today.
  • For most babies, I've heard that 3 months is the turning point.  The most extreme case I've heard of is 5 months, but I'm sure that is very rare!
  • I hope it gets better for you soon. Our little guy was diagnosed with colic and we tried everything that everyone told us. Someone finally suggested a chiropractic visit since DS had such a rough entry into the world. I was skeptical, but several people I trust vouched for it. And it has worked wonders. The first time they looked at him, massaged his back, stretched him.... he went home and slept for 5 hours straight. The crying fits have stopped. I know it's not for everyone, but in my opinion I would have tried anything when I was at my wits end.
  • My pediatrician said colic has the rule of 3 - it usually starts around 3 weeks of age, occurs at least 3 nights a week, and ends around 3 months of age.  GL and I hope your LO feels better!
