Two Under 2

Mommies please come in...

I need some advice, I am struggling juggling all 3 of my kids.  I am starting to feel very overwhelmed and depressed.  I can't seem to get a routine with my littlest and it is really wearing me down.  On top of that I have bf supply issues. (I can't get let downs, breast never feel full) My daughter won't sleep during the day anywhere but on me.  My toddler needs my attention well b/c she is a toddler.  My oldest needs me for school and other activities, and just to hang out with her.  Then there is the house and cooking, my husband.

What can I do to make life easier????  Oh my daughter doesn't sleep even in the car. GEEESH

  • Uuuugh, I totally know what you mean.  DS2 didn't want to sleep anywhere but ON me.  We are just now getting down to waking only once at night.  DS1 is in his terrible 2's.  BF has not been as easy this time.

My only suggestions is to find/get/accept help.  Even with my church friends and my mom locally, I still had a really hard time.  Don't be afraid to ask for help!!

  • I know with three kids and it sounds like you SAH so only one income it can be really tight but is there anyway you could get a mother's helper or even just someone to come in and maybe do the bigger cleaning once a week or every other week? I know my sister with 3 school age kids and a newborn does this. She can get the house tidied and sheets changed on weekends but cleaning toilets and things fall by the wayside so they've been paying for that. She also has one day a week where a neighborhood teenager comes to help out with the newborn while she does stuff with the older girls (mostly shuffle them from school to sports/activities) or grocery shops or runs errands without any kids.
  • Wear the little one and if she likes being ON you then she'll be happy and let you do other things like hang out with your older girls.
  • I was going to suggest wearing the baby too.  To you have any sling or carrier to try that with?  Maybe a sling type or moby wrap type might make her feel close and comfy.

What are your toddler's favorite toys?  My DS loves books.  I just found some at Costco that keep him occupied for 15 min!  They are by Priddy....Counting Colors and Can you find me.  Very similar to the "I spy" type thing.
