Maternity pants... love 'em or hate 'em?

I looooved my maternity pants when I was pregnant with Zachary, but I'm totally hating them this time.  I can still wear my three favorite pairs of pre-preg jeans (sometimes I use a belly band, but I don't have to yet) and I definitely prefer them to my Gap maternity jeans from last time.  I hated the belly band last time - go figure.

What about you?  If you're wearing maternity jeans, what's your favorite kind?

Re: Maternity pants... love 'em or hate 'em?

  • I would love to know if anyone has found some that are not baggy in the butt!!! Every pair I try make me look like I have junk in the trunk.

  • hate.  I'm still using the be band, I have one pair of maternity jeans, but never wear them
  • I'm very happy to have the beband.  They didn't have that when I was pg with my dd 6 years ago.  I don't think any of my maternity jeans are comfortable - I have ones from Old Navy and Kohl's and maybe a pair from Motherhood.  They all fall down on me - despite the fact that I've gotten bigger.  I work from home so I typically wear yoga pants which are perfect.
  • I'm wearing motherhood's secret panel (or whatever they are called) slacks and jeans.

They are super comfy, but tend to slide down. I have to keep my Be Band over them to hold them up!

  • I love my maternity pants. My butt has grown along with my belly and there is no way I can fit in my pre-preg pants right now.

  • I hate pants of all kinds!  I have been living in leggings/tunics and dresses with tights.  I have a pair of Citizens maternity jeans that look nice standing, but get very uncomfy after sitting for a while.

I don't have much in the butt department and Gap Maternity jeans are the only ones I can wear. All the other ones bunch and sag in the @ss.  Gap are more expensive but I would rather have 1 or 2 fabulous jeans than 4 ugly ill fitting ones.

  • I'm glad I'm not alone. I went to Gap and Old Navy and was very disappointed. It was too much fabric in the crotch and butt. Going to check out Motherhood Maternity and Penney's/other dept stores tomorrow.

  • I love my maternity pants!  I love how the full panel rounds out my belly.  :-)

Oddly enough, my fave maternity jeans right now are from Burlington Coat Factory and only cost about $15.  They actually make my butt look good!  I have a pair from Old Navy but they're still too big and they constantly fall down.

  • Hate the pants, they're too big and I pull at them all day. I still wear my regular slacks with a belly band. Jeans I had to cave on a few weeks ago. I have a pair from Target I can tolerate and I love my Sevens from Pea in a Pod.

  • I LOVE maternity pants, when I can find ones that fit, but they are all too small on my butt. It's been a chore for me to find ones that fit everywhere. Generally, I've just been getting pants with a lot of stretch.

ETA: I do have to keep them up with a Bella Band, but still love them.

  • I pretty much hate all maternity pants except my Paige Jeans. They are the only jeans I have that don't end up super baggy and don't make me look like a frumpy pregnant woman. I can still wear a couple of my larger pre preg jeans and I will continue to wear them as long as possible!
  • I have a couple pairs of Gap maternity and a pair of the Secret Fit Belly from MM. I like them both. I love the ones with the full panel because I feel like it kind of keeps the muffin top in tact. I do have to wear the belly band with the Gap maternity pants, since they aren't full panel. A lot of my pants tend to slide down a bit.

  • I wear the Motherhood slacks to work everyday.  I bought 2 pairs of jeans from motherhood and the ones I've worn so far, (their cheaper priced ones) have stretched out and really fall down and there's a lot of fabric to grab in the crotch and butt and thigh.  I wear jeans only when I have to.  I bought another pair from Motherhood that are darker wash and the belly panel is white, those fit a lot better and haven't stretched out.  I also have a pair from Target that I really like, but only wear those with heels or boots since they are long.  I'm usually a designer jeans girl, but got so frustrated trying Sevens on at Pea in a Pod that I just gave up.  I'm fine with yoga pants or stretchy knit pants for now.
  • I bought some dress pants from kohl's which fit really well and always stay up.  The jeans I got from motherhood fit well but I have to pull them up every so often.

  • Same as you, loved them last time, hate them this time.  Last time, my butt and thighs got bigger, so I think they fit better?  This time, everything keeps sliding down.  I am still wearing pre preg pants with the belly band, or maternity pants with the band.  I have one pair of liz lange maternity work pants from target that fit great, but I got these 2 years ago.

Nope still looking I bought the smallest Maternity jeans I could find and they are so baggy and have a large amount of excess fabric in the pubic region as well like I am supposed to have boy parts or something. Less than 14 weeks to go and I am not spending anymore money on Maternity clothes. I'll just deal with my long baggy jeans I bought. Either that or take my sewing maching to them.

  • I bought some expensive designer ones that look stupid but some cheap ones from Target that are great! They look like normal jeans and they actually stay where they're supposed to. I usually wear a 12 but I got them in a 10 and they're perfect.
  • I love my Old Navy Maternity jeans. These two specifically fit me great!

  • I love, love, love my maternity pants.  Even though some are still a little big and slide down a little, they are super comfy!

  • I love my maternity pants. I love how the full panel rounds out my belly and keeps my muffin top under control.

I love my jeans from Old Navy and from The Gap. I have 2 pairs of full panel ON that I switch off every other day. Then on the weekend I usually pull out the Gap ones. They are skinny jeans and a little tight in the booty but I still love them. I do not have too big of a butt and hardly have any hips and they stay up on me really well.

  • I love maternity pants!  I bought about a half a dozen pairs for work and home from Motherhood during their holiday sale.  The secret panel is awesome. The sizing of their pants is true to whatever you wore before but there is more room for that weird thickness in your back and the widening of your hips...good stuff.

I bought one pair of jeans from Target and they fall down all of the time.  The panel won't stay up and I'm constantly feeling like they're going to fall off of me.  Sizing on them was not accurate and I wish I hadn't bought them.  And the panel stretched out almost immediately.  Don't want my hubby to roll his eyes at me but I want a new pair of jeans already!  :)

  • My butt and thighs have grown along with my bump.  I'm not crazy about how I look, but I do really like my dress pants and jeans from A Pea in the Pod.  Full panel rocks...I've never been so comfortable in pants ever.
