Babies: 9 - 12 Months

I'm thinking of making pancakes for Mason

I need to change up his breakfast. Thoughts?

If you're giving your LO pancakes already, what age did you start?

  • Great idea...  I have yet to do this because DS just learned the chewing (gumming) technique.

  • I gave her some pancakes for the first time about a month ago. But she was "slow" getting into solids. If you think your LO will like it-go for it!

  • I havebeen wanting to do that!  Haven't yet, obviously. But we don't have regular pancake mix in our house b/c i'm allergic to flour. But i thought it would be cute to see her enjoy some.

Will you butter and/or syrup them? or keep them plain? Just curious- I don't know baby pancake ettiquette :)

  • I gave him pancakes around 8months...I got the recipe from www.wholesomebabyfood.com
  • I tried a few weeks ago but she wasn't really into them. I'll try again soon, though. I just bought the Aunt Jemima mini frozen waffles b/c if she doesn't want them then they're an easy quick breakfast for us during the work week.

I was just going to mix in some banana or something like that to give them flavor and give them to him plain.

I'm crazy nervous about giving him finger food. I need affirmation that it's a good idea. I might wait until he's 8 months just to ease my mind.

  • I may try this over the weekend.

  • I gave them a frozen Multi-grain Eggo waffle to gnaw on. They loved the cold on their gums.

I was scared of finger foods too! At about 8.5 months DD outright refused anything off a spoon (other than yogurt).  I had been giving her some finger food, but not full-time.  Now it's all I giver her! But at your LO's age, I would have been scared silly... I know this isn't exactly helpful, but I would wait!
