Where to find Soda Ash

Since we've moved I haven't been able to find any, except on drugstore.com. Any suggestions for stores that might carry it?

Re: Where to find Soda Ash

  • Are you looking for it under Soda Ash or Washing Soda (I know that it can be packaged as both so I'm not sure what you were getting before - it's the same thing). I get my Arm and Hammer WS at Kroger and I've seen it at Meijer as well if you have either of those in the area. I think my dh picked it up at Giant Eagle once too but that might have been Borax. I'm pretty sure you can get it at the dreaded WalMart if you have one of those around and you can't find it anywhere else.

  • I will pay $6 for shipping before going to WalMart...maybe. Since I can't go to the grocery it's up to my husband.

I hear you, I avoid that place like the plague.

Walmart doesn't sell it anyway, just baking soda. I've seen it at Fred Meyer (a Kroger store...so if you have a Kroger store of some kind I bet you can find it there).

  • I know you need soda ash for tie-dying.  I've seen it with tie-dye supplies at Hobby Lobby and Micheal's Craft stores.
