This is definitely TMI, but I need someone to reassure me and am hoping someone here can. So I am having surgery next week to repair an anal fissure. I have been ignoring it for about a year or so and it just won't heal so they said surgery is my only option since the prescription treatment didn't work. I made the mistake of googling the surgery and now I am kind of freaking out. Has anyone had this surgery? If so can you calm my googling fears :-(.

Re: Maybe TMI, but wondering if anyone has been through this (NIFR)
Thanks Jane. The doc acted like it was very routine, quick surgery and said he has a 97-98% success rate so I really didn't think much about it, but then I googled. You are right I just need to step away from the computer and take a deep breath.

I'm sure everthing will be just fine! Especially with a 98% success rate.
Just remember, google often has the worst, rarest problems associated with anything- because how boring would it be to google something completely safe and normal. So ignore google.
You will do wonderful. Just think, after all the IF stuff you've been through this will be a piece of cake. Good luck! Try not to be too nervous.
Google is the devil.
