Hi everyone! I am due July 2010. We are thinking of moving to Mission Hills/Hillcrest area. Do any of you live there? We currently live downtown. We will be first time parents and are so excited! I work in National City and DH works in Mission Valley. I know I will want to get home quickly after work to be with my baby. Are there playgroups in the area? Daycare? etc What is it like to live there? Whenever we drive through I really like the feel of it. Any input would help.
Thank you!
Re: Moving to Mission Hills
We live in Hillcrest and are also expecting our first in the beginning of May. We often go to Mission Hills for the nice restaurants and the lovely cheeseshop, because we drive through there when going back from work (DH and I are commuting together to La Jolla). The two areas virtually melt together and are very walkable for stroller walks to coffee shops (I hope!). I am just starting to check out play groups and daycare. The day care we are looking at is in La Jolla and has a year and a half waiting list, which mean that we will be looking for part time day care for about 6 months when I go back to work in October and DH can take off two days a week (I can probably take off one day/week too). Not sure about any play groups yet, but if not we can start our own :-)
In terms of living there I love it and wouldn't live anywhere else in San Diego. I just like being able to walk to shops and restaurants.
Good luck with the move!
