City versus Suburbs

I am currently living in the city with my baby and weighing the pros/cons of living in the city versus the suburbs. What does everyone think?

Re: City versus Suburbs

  • I think it depends on your circumstances.  We currently live in Back Bay but are moving to central Mass in June.  I LOVE living in the city but moving is the best for our situation.  I would like to be able to stay home and the lower cost of living will allow me to do that.  Also, my husband works in Westborough so we will only be 5 miles from his office and he can come home at lunch.  It will also cut out an hour commute for him.

Make a pro/con list of your reasons and see what wins out!  Good luck.

  • I struggle a lot with that question too. The city has so much to offer, but the suburbs have many different things to offer. A big factor is what your working situation is in your family -- is there a commute involved? Money a factor? Space (both indoor and outdoor)?

It's ultimately a decision that only you can make for what works best for your family.

    Good Luck!

  • Thanks for the smart posts, girls! I really appreciate your feedback! I am trying to get a grasp of what other parents think across the country. My friends here all live in the city, too, so I was reaching to other parts of the country to see where everyone else stands!

    Thanks!!! :)
