Jogging Strollers

BOB Revolution vs. Baby Jogger City Elite?  Both are going for the same price on Amazon.com.  Both have adaptors that accommodate the Graco Snugride 32 car seat that I'm going with.  All the reviews I can find are split pretty much 50/50 in terms of safety, stability, and maneuverability, though Testfreaks.com gave the BOB a 10 and the Baby Jogger a 7.3.  I also saw that the Baby Jogger isn't really recommended for jogging, but I'm more of a power walker anyway.

Does anyone have these and/or looked into this and can comment on the differences?  Thank you!

Re: Jogging Strollers

  • I was torn between the two but decided to go with the City Elite because you can get a jumper seat for a toddler.  I plan on having another kid someday and it would be nice to be able to use the same stroller for 2 kids.  :)

  • We'll be getting the Baby Jogger City Mini Double. I'm NOT a jogger or anything even close, though I'm hoping to go on lots of walks to help get rid of the the baby weight. Anyway, I LOVE the fold on the Baby Jogger. I have no experience with the BOB strollers though.

  • I'm planning to get the BOB, but I'm also a runner.

  • One big difference to look at is the wheel sizes.  6-8" wheels are really more for power walking/ everyday use.  The larger the wheel, the smoother the ride for baby.  Also, if you look at the Baby Jogger website, they break down which of their strollers they recommend for each use.  Good luck!

  • We have a BOB and love it.  We use it for everything.  It is very easy to maneuver and the ride is very smooth.  The big wheels make it easy to go up and down curbs and even some single stairs very easily.  (but I can't compare them as I have never used a Baby Jogger citi).

  • We had the same question - so we found a store that sold both. DH and I took turns pushing the Baby Jogger and the BOB Revolution around the store for quite some time. We also practiced putting a snugride (the seat we chose) in both. The BOB was our favorite by far. FOlded up way easier, WAY smoother ride, smoother turns, easier to lock the wheel. THat's what we're going with. I would recommend finding a store where you can compare them side by side and see what works for you. I also also tall so that was part of the consideration.

Good luck! Both are great strollers and you probably can't go wrong. It's just personal preference.

  • Thanks, Anna...they do have a great PDF comparing each of their stroller models, which is how I ended up picking the City Elite.  Good advice regarding the size of the wheels and smoother ride for baby.  Will definitely go back and look more carefully at the size of the wheels.

  • And thank you to all the rest of you for your input!!  I'm going to test them both this weekend and hopefully come to a decision soon.
