Can I get some opinions on this? I asked my Dr. about it and he said it was ok to fly up to 36-37 weeks as long as I don't have any complications (I've had none). This is my second pregnancy. I'm just asking for more opinions because my husband is nervous and it's making me a little nervous! We live in the Northeast and our flight will be 3 hours. I will have my 17 month old with me on the way down (by myself) but my mom is flying back up with us- so she'll be able to help with my DD. Other than my lap getting smaller, I don't feel any different. This will be our last trip to see our family for a WHILE- probably until the baby is a few months old, at least. Opinions?! TIA!
Re: Flying at 32 weeks
I can tell you I was extremely uncomfortable. Sitting for so long, with the belly pressure on my back, actually made it hard to breathe (I am not afraid of flying). The flight was a turbulent 1.5 hours, and I was horribly uncomfortable for all of them.

I just flew at 28 1/2 weeks, and it was... well, it sucked for me. my flight was from WA to LA, about a 2.5 hour flight. I fly all the time (i'm in the Navy, family lives east coast, im stationed west coast). but it made me feel like i was in the first tri again. i felt really sick to my stomach and sought out a barf bag as soon as we lifted off. The air pressure also made DD bounce around like a hot potato in there. everything was fine, just uncomfortable for me. i suggest an AISLE seat. as soon as that fasten seat belt sign goes off, take a stroll. surprisingly that was the only thing that helped (walking). it isn't unsafe or anything, just uncomfortable. the shorter the flight, the better. AND if you can get a flight with Virgin America, DO IT. they have way more leg room. i could stretch out and i didn't hit the elbow of the girl next to me once. lol
GL!
My doctor also said it is okay to fly up until 35-36 weeks. I fly pretty frequently from Northern to Southern California. I would just suggest taking some water, some snacks, and getting an aisle seat that will allow for walks (keep that circulation flowing) and bathroom breaks. (Oh and maybe a lumbar pillow...my back gets pretty uncomfortable in those airplane seats).
Have Fun!?
That's too funny about the dr. likely being someone you went to high school with! I'm going home for the same reason - baby shower- and I really want to make the trip. I think I'll be fine- I've flown a lot this pregnancy.... I have an aisle seat... I just needed to hear from other ladies in the same boat I'm in!
