i need some serious help. napping is pretty much a no go in this house.....about 20 minutes max, unless we go somewhere and he zonks in his car seat..... and as soon as we move him to his crib he wakes up. he's been spoiled with lots of snuggling grandparents during the day, which i think might be contributing. right now he's sleeping on my chest, b/c i know as soon as i move him to his crib he'll wake up. any help is appreciated!!
Re: naps
I bought five different sleep books including No Cry, but the issue is that all books don't recommend sleep training until LO is at least 4 months. Before that, the just give education about newborn sleep and tips to get them to have a good routine and foundation for good sleep. They also give suggestions on how to avoid some common mistakes, but as far as getting LO to sleep independently at this stage, the don't recommend letting them cry or overtiring/ overstimulating them with different methods to get them to sleep. I have been wearing DS in a moby during the day so I can do stuff.
I try to see if he will sleep on his own. But so far, it doesn't seem like he is ready. This morning, we already tried to put him down for a nap. After an hour of him crying each time I put him down, I decided that he's not ready today and it's more important that he sleeps well than where he is sleeping. I really pray that things will improve over the next few weeks. But at least I know that by 4mo, he will be cognitively ready for sleeptraining.
