Anyone else prescribed this during pregnancy?

I discussed with my doctor today that I have not slept a full night since I got pregnant, she prescribed a drug called hydroxyzine. I have read about it, and know it's a drug for anxiety and tension and they also call it a "sedative" it says it's OK if prescribed by my doctor, so has anyone else been prescribed this??

    huh thats intersting... I have never had it rx'd for me but my pup takes it for allergies. In the vet world we use it like benedryl.

    I haven't been prescribed this but friends of mine have and it works well for them. In addition to helping sleep and anxiety it also helps with nausea.

    It's an ingredient found in allergy/cold medications.  I used to work in the mental health field and there were some people that would take it to help sleep.  It will definitely put you to sleep, but you may feel groggy the next day.  HTH...

    Thank you everyone, I feel better about taking it now. My dr. thought it would help with my anxiety as well, though I didn't know I had any, but today I was a nervous wreck! Just wanted everything to be OK.
