Anyone else get sick from caffeine?

So the only time I have felt horrible this pg is when I was having my cup of coffee each morning and I would be nauseas til about right after lunch. It seemed to be as soon as the caffeine would be out of my system. So I experimented with no coffee and the nausea was gone. Not knowing if the caffiene was the problem I decided to have a dr pepper (I normally do not drink soda) and the same effect. The idea of going this whole time without the slightest bit of caffiene makes me sad only because that is how I get going in the morning.... but I guess it can be a good thing!

Re: Anyone else get sick from caffeine?

  • Caffeine is one of the few things that actually help my morning sickness. Brewing a cup of tea as we speak!

  • It's probably your body's way of telling you that it's not good for baby. I used to love Pepsi's before being pregnant. I didn't drink them a lot, they were just my indulgence if I wanted a soda every once in awhile. I tried to sneak one of DH's the other day - GROSS! I poured the rest down the drain. Needless to say, DH was mad that I didn't save it for him, but my excuse was, "I didn't want it to go flat!"

  • The only caffiene I ever really have is coffee other than that I stick to water but for some reason I really wanted a dr pepper. Now I feel crummy! I never had caffeine with dd so I guess I can go without this time!

  • My doctor said only 1 soda a day MAX. I haven't even been drinking them. I seriously think that is why I have lost weight! I am drinking lots of water. Before pregnancy I drank a lot of diet cokes.

  • Soda (caffeinated or caffeine-free) has just sounded yucky to me since week 6.  I do miss my daily Mt. Dew in my head, but not in my stomach! :)
