2 under 2 sharing a bedroom

I didn't know there was a 2 under 2 board until someone helpfully pointed it out, but apparently I belong here - I had a positive pregnancy test yesterday and my son is 13 months old.

I already need think about the bedroom situation (we only have 2 bedrooms) so did any of you have your NB and OS share a room early on? If so, how did it affect OS? I shared a room with my sister for years, but not when I was 3 months old...  

Should be interesting!

    My kiddos share a room.  It was interesting how my little one did not wake up my older one or vice versa.

    If you are nursing then I am guessing that your little one will bunk with you for the first few months.  Then maybe once he/she starts to STTN or at least semi STTN then it will get better.

    Mine will be sharing a room as well. ?Crosses fingers it works out!

    They would share if DS was a sleeper, but unfortunately, he's not.  Crib for LO is going in our room (sigh).  Maybe once we get through a few months and everybody gets on a sleeping schedule we'll put them together.  Good luck!

    My boys share a room.

    The little one stayed with us in a pack 'n play until he was 4-5 months old.  Then he moved in with his brother.  The transition was much easier than I imagined.  They really do ignore each other's noises through the night.

    We put the little one down first at night and let him get fully to sleep (at least 1/2 hour).  Then we bring in big brother and show him his little brother sleeping and put him to bed as well.

    In the morning, the little one wakes up first.  I grab him quickly and let the older one sleep for another 1/2 to 1 hour depending.

    I am hoping that when they transition into toddler or big boy beds that they will really comfort each other as well.  They are both good sleepers either way.

    We have no choice but to do it.  I'm going to keep NB in our room in the PnP for a month or so, then hopefully move her into DS's room.  I'm nervous, but we don't really have any other options right now.

    Thanks for the replies.

    I was thinking that NB would stay in our room (bassinet or PNP) for the first couple of months. DS will be 21/22 months when NB arrives, so DS would be 2 by the time NB needed to move into his room.

    I hope they really do sleep through each other's noises.

    It sounds like we have similar plans. I feel better about my plans now Smile
