Infertility

Re is not "too" concerned... thoughts?

SO I totally trust my RE and I know he obviously has my best intrest in mind...

I just finished a B2B IUI with 2 good size follicles and a "Good" cycle according to my RE. We found out last week that I have some scar tissue in my uterus from previous D&C's. It's pretty low and isn't really near where implant. would occur. He said that having that scar tissue MAY up the M/C rate if I did become pregnant but he is not to concerned with it...

obviously if this cycle isn't it, we will remove it.

What do you think...

TIA!

Re: Re is not "too" concerned... thoughts?

  • I am by NO MEANS a doctor.  But I would assume you are right.

It sounds like you have two options:

remove it now and miss the chance this cycle

or ignore it for the time being hoping you are pregnant

I would say ONLY if you are comfortable with the scar tissue being there if you become pregnant this cycle should you ignore it.

If this is going to make you batty during your entire pregnancy and cause worry--that can't be good for you or the baby . . .

    IDK, just my inital thoughts.

I wish you all the best either way!

  • I don't know much about scar tissue, but I have a septum which is similar in that it will not support a pregnancy if this is where the embryo happens to implant.  It really depends how big and extensive it is as to whether it's causing problems and if it's worth it to have it out.  FWIW, my first RE wouldn't touch my septum for fear of scar tissue, but my new RE didn't hesitate at all to take it out.  So I had to trust my instincts instead of my RE, but if you have a good one you may just want to wait and see since he's willing to roll with the punches.  Good luck with whatever you decide!

  • Thanks ladies... I mean, what can I really do now? I already had the IUI and now I am in the 2WW. Time will tell I guess!
  • I'd trust your RE.  He knows where the scar tissue is and how much of it is there.  If it had been too high risk, I trust he would have talked to you about whether to continue the cycle or not.  Good luck to you!

Thanks for making me feel better love!

  • I would trust the doctor to give you the right information unless you have had some issues in the past.  I keep reminding myself that this is what they do for a living and they know best.  It's difficult though!  Hugs!
