3rd Trimester

I hate BRU

I really wish I never registered at that damn store.  I can't even edit to add that it's our first kid, over a dozen items go out of stock monthly, and now it's telling me my highchair is out of stock, when there's plenty in store and online says nothing about limited stock.  WTF.

I'm so temped to post a PSA in the first tri saying don't register with them, it's not worth the headache!

Re: I hate BRU

  • I hate them too, same issues. If I had it to do over again I wouldn't register there.

  • I think you should post.....I have had such a bad experience with them as well.

  • Ugh.  My lurking on this board caused me to delete my BRU registry and add it somewhere else.  I'd say go for the PSA in 1st Tri.
  • I hate that you can't change anything that is "In-store only!"  It's really been pissing me off lately, but the only other option where I live is Target and I don't feel like they have the same amount of options.  Stupid BRU!
  • I haven't had any issues with them...yet.  I really hope I don't start to either.
  • Unfortunately none of the big stores with baby registries are really any good.  Their stores are physically convenient to a wide range of shower attendees though, so they stay in business.
  • I know this is kind of shady, but I registered there with just a few items so I could get my completion coupon and buy the last minute things I needed. I would say don't totally delete your registry, maybe just register somewhere else and keep the BRU one small.
  • they really do suck!!! mine won't even let me delete things. I didn't put that I was registered there in my shower invites. go target!

  • If you notice, most of the items on your registy fall under the catergory "available online" since you're looking at it online. Most of the time if it says out of stock or temp unavailable or whatever it gives you the store locator option to find a store that has it. It shows they are out because the warehouse (or wherever items purchased online are shipped from) is out. It you printed your registy in store (assuming that store has that particular item) it would show in stock, because there it is in stock.

  • We registered at BRU because our Target had a poor selection, no one in my family besides me shops at Wal Mart (plus there isn't one in my home town) and again Baby Depot had a bad selection and no locations near our families.

If my shower evite didn't go out stating we are registered there I would delete it.

Hmmm, I've changed things that have said In Store Only.  I deleted my playmat and added a new one.....

  • I agree...I've been frustrated with BRU the whole time.  It was a bad omen when the day we went in to start our registry their system was "down" for an undetermined amount of time.  We moved almost everything over to Buy Buy Baby and have had no problems with them.

  • I am having same problem with Target.

I really wasn't a fan of BRU bc they are so expensive compared to other stores, but after my issues with Target, I like them now.

Still do a PSA though. Give them a heads up!

  • Every store sucks right now. January is when they liquidate their mechandise to make room for new things.
  • They are a whopping pain in the butt.

  • I only had one small issue with them. After the new year, some of the items on my registry were showing up as N/A. When I searched the site the items were still available though. They must have changed the SKU numbers or something.

Like others have mentioned, my Target had a poor selection and there are no other baby stores around here so I had little choice.

  • I feel like I live in an alternate universe, where BRU is hassle-free and easy to deal with, lol.  I play around with my registry all the time (most recently to add items to it that I got as a gift and want to return), and never had any sort of problem.

  • AND they don't accept returns/exchanges without a gift receipt...and even then it's a PITA.

    And they're expensive. Vent over.

I returned over $700 worth of stuff without a gift receipt to BRU.  Put it on your registry before you go to the store as "completed".

I returned something yesterday without a reciept. It was on my registry so there was no problem.

  • I've always had pretty good luck with them.  Granted I registered with them over a year ago for DS 1, but I have returned things recently with no receipt and had no issues, it was for store credit, but I know some BRU stores won't even give you that without a receipt.
