? About C-Section and Pain Meds

Since there are some pretty hefty pain meds involved after a cs are you able to nurse while recovering and on pain meds? 
bfp 5/17/09 - missed m/c 6/17/09 @ 9w - stopped growing 6w 1d, D&C 6/19/09

Discovered TWINS during the 6w u/s - what a shocker!

    That's good.  It just seems confusing to me.  I thought the babies would get some of the drugs though bf'ing.  Can you tell I'm a newbie at this :)

    Yes - they give you meds that are safe.

    In addition if you are planning on nursing my doctor/hospital ecommends getting this stuff called FloraQ (i think that is how you spell it).

    It is OTC and because they give you antibotics in the OR it can help prevent thrush and stuff.

    It is expensive - about a dollar a pill and you get 30 pills in a bottle - but well worth it.

    I was able to get it at our super market pharmacy.

    I took it twice while I was nursing when I got a bladder infection - they recommended me going on it again.

    No problems here.  I had some terrible nerve pain (aka worst pain OF.MY.LIFE - don't worry, not something that's really c/s related, just a fluke) and was on Demerol for about a day and a half.  Even the LC said that the amount of meds that would get into my milk would be minimal and not do any harm.

    I just wanted to throw https://www.kellymom.com/ out there for you for future reference (if you haven't seen it before). It's a very useful supplemental site. I was kind of amazed at the medications that you can take while bfing too.
