Nutramigen help!

Has anyone had any sort of success getting either United Healthcare or ExpressScripts to pay for LO's Nutramigen/Alimentum??? If so what exactly did you do?

I just did the math...over $300 a month. I may have to sell DH on a street corner to afford this stuff....and I don't think he'd bring in much Tongue Tied

Re: Nutramigen help!

  • Nope!  No luck here!  Let me know if you figure it out!  GL!

  • I can't help but we have the same insurance and I'm suppose to pick up our letter from the pedi for Alimentum on Wed to try to get it covered.

    GOOD LUCK!!

  • Just an FYI...I called Enfamil (1-800-BABY123) and more or less complained about the cost killing us. The lady hooked me up with a few "extra" formula checks in addition to what I'm already receiving in the regular program plus a sample can for free. It's definately worth a call.
  • nope... but we just had a visit with the pedi gastro and she said we can switch her back to regular formula now.  We had switched to it before we had a diagnosis of reflux. And now, pedi and gastro think she is outgrown it so we are putting her on the lactose free (similac sensitive) this week and weaning her off the zantac next week.
  • I don't know if this is an option for you, but a friend of mine was on the WIC program, which gives you "checks" for goodstart (i think) formula. Well she had the doctor write her a script for Nutramigen and took it to the WIC office, which in turn gave her "checks" for the Nutramigen.
